In this virtual program, Ellen Kunkelmann, associate editor at the Missouri Historical Society, will discuss childhood in the late Georgian era. Join us on Zoom as we explore the influences of Rationalism, Romanticism, and reality; apply this historical context to Jane Austen’s own family; and take a closer look at representations of childhood and family life in her novels—the good, the bad, and the scathing.
