Annual Austen Birthday Luncheon  ‘Gamers, Regency Style’

Join us for lunch and a lively discussion, along with energetic demonstrations of how Regency social groups, young and old, amused themselves while competing with each other. We will explore how Jane Austen’s family and friends found fun and entertainment in competitive games.

Bettye Dew is a retired editor and teacher. A life member of JASNA, she joined JASNA—St. Louis in 1980 and served as program chair for the 1984 JASNA AGM (Annual General Meeting), held here in St. Louis. She and Harriett Gray designed and edited the first editions of “JASNA News.” Dew has served the Metropolitan St. Louis Region of JASNA in several capacities, including program chair and hostess.

Lynn Fields is a librarian and the director of technical services at Lovejoy Library, SIUE. She joined JASNA in 1992 and the Metropolitan St. Louis Region in 1994. She has served as hostess and has been region treasurer since 2006.
